The Daily Dribbling of the Fluoroscopic Kid...

2006-05-01 : Friday evening I was quite inspired by this post (you may not have access). The result was a weekend of work and this.

"Theme to 'Gas Panic'" (4MB, NSFW language)

And I seriously need to get some css all up in this page.

2006-02-02 : We've got a new mp3 up. The song is colatch, and is a product of creativity when I should have been doing something else.

Also, you may be interested in another project cooking in the fluoroscopic laboratories.

2005-10-25 : A few days ago I decided to start learning pd to be able to use its graphics capabilities. Supercollider has had a few chances to incorporate graphics, and none of them have really come through. pd can use GEM as a library, as well as a few other video and graphics libraries. Also, both pd and sc can use OSC so in theory they can "talk" to each other.

Putting theory into practice is an enjoyable thing. After two days of off and on forget-to-eat-or-drink hackery, I now have working examples of the WX5 controlling not only supercollider, but a second monitor worth of OpenGL graphics. This success leads only to problems of course. Now I want to buy a projector.

2005-10-25 : Never underestimate the difficulty in writing about yourself. Perhaps the only thing more difficult is choosing a picture of yourself to show the world.

Although there is not much current news, the fk news bulletin list is now available for subscribers, so that in the event of an fk show, or a new mp3 on the site, you will be duly notified. Perhaps you might also be inticed by links to sekrit files on the site? I thought so. Sign up!

2005-10-24 : The updated site is up. Yes, the background is supposed to be gaudy and annoying, but at least I am not making you read text directly over it. The menu may be changing as I add downloadable desktops and icons into the pics section, perhaps adding a separate "files" section? Also, not sure where to put things that are straight up for sale.

2005-10-12 : Progress with the WX-5 has been going well. From never having played a wind instrument, I really feel I am beginning to be able to understand this set of keys the same way I know a fretboard. It seems like even playing a piano, I translate the key patterns into the patterns of a fretboard. Learning to think in terms of a set of fixed keys is sloshing around some new brain matter.
